In a snapshot of the endlessly varied forms of musical expression throughout our community, Contemporaneous hosts a non-genre musical gathering with sets by some of the most powerful artists working amongst us: daring avant-rock band Boio, “genre obliterating” Warp Trio, and Forward Music Project, Amanda Gookin’s multimedia set of solo cello works seeking to empower women and girls.

IRON & COAL is an intimate musical journey through the Holocaust's lingering emotional wounds on a survivor and his son. Contemporaneous joins composer, singer, songwriter, and lyricist Jeremy Schonfeld in his evening-length work commemorating his father, newly arranged by co-artistic director David Bloom. This staged production is directed by Kevin Newbury.
